【摘要】:Thephysico-chemicalcharacteristicsoftheraworstartingbiomaterialusedinregenerativemedicinescaffoldscarriessignificantpotentialtoaffectproductperformancebyinfluencingcellbehaviorand/orthereleaseofbioactivemoleculesordrugs.Thisguidedescribesrecommendedspecificationsorcharacterizationsofraworstartingbiomaterialstoensurereproducibilitypriortotheirfabricationintoimplantabletissueengineeringscaffoldsand/orcontrolledreleasematrices.1.1Thisdocumentprovidesguidanceonwritingamaterialsspecificationforraworstartingbiomaterialsintendedforuseintissueengineeringscaffoldsforgrowth,support,ordeliveryofcellsand/orbiomolecules.Thisguidedoesnotapplytobiomaterialsthatarealreadyinascaffoldformorarefinishedtissue-engineeredmedicalproducts.1.2Thepurposeofthisguideistoprovideacompendiumofrelevantexistingstandardsandtestmethodsforbiomaterialsalreadycommonlyusedwithinmedicalproductsandtoprovidecharacterizationguidanceforinterimuseofrawbiomaterialsforwhichastandarddoesnotexist.1.3Thisguidecoversspecificationsandcharacterizationsofallthemajorclassesofmaterialsincludingpolymers,ceramics,metals,composites,andnaturaltissuesofhuman,animal,orplantorigin.Thisguidedoesnotapplytopharmaceuticals.1.4Thisguideisfocusedonspecificationofchemical,physical,andmechanicalpropertiesoftheraworstartingmaterial.Itdoesnotincludesafetyandbiocompatibilityrequirementssincesafetyandbiocompatibilitytestingistypicallydoneonmaterialsfabricatedintoafinalformtoincludeallpossibleeffectsoffabricationandsterilizationtechniques.1.5Compliancewithmaterialsspecificationsdevelopedinaccordancewiththisstandardmaynotnecessarilyresultinamaterialsuitableforitsintendedpurpose.Additionaltestingspecifictotheintendusemayberequired.
