【摘要】:Thedielectricbreakdownvoltageofaninsulatingliquidisofimportanceasameasureoftheliquidrsquo;abilitytowithstandelectricstresswithoutfailure.Thedielectricbreakdownvoltageservestoindicatethepresenceofcontaminatingagentssuchaswater,dirt,cellulosicfibers,orconductingparticlesintheliquid,oneormoreofwhichmaybepresentinsignificantconcentrationswhenlowbreakdownvoltagesareobtained.However,ahighdielectricbreakdownvoltagedoesnotnecessarilyindicatetheabsenceofallcontaminants;itmaymerelyindicatethattheconcentrationsofcontaminantsthatarepresentintheliquidbetweentheelectrodesarenotlargeenoughtodeleteriouslyaffecttheaveragebreakdownvoltageoftheliquidwhentestedbythistestmethod(seeAppendixX1.)Thistestmethodisusedinlaboratoryorfieldtests.Forfieldbreakdownresultstobecomparabletolaboratoryresults,allcriteriaincludingroomtemperature(20to30x00B0;C)mustbemet.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthedielectricbreakdownvoltageofinsulatingoilsofpetroleumorigin.Thistestmethodisapplicabletoliquidpetroleumoilscommonlyusedincables,transformers,oilcircuitbreakers,andsimilarapparatusasaninsulatingandcoolingmedium.Thesuitabilityofthistestmethodfortestingoilshavingviscosityofmorethan19cSt,(100SUS)at40176;C(104176;F)hasnotbeendetermined.RefertoTerminologyD2864fordefinitionsusedinthistestmethod.1.2Thistestmethodissensitivetothedeleteriouseffectsofmoistureinsolutionespeciallywhencellulosicfibersarepresentintheoil.Ithasbeenfoundtobeespeciallyusefulindiagnosticandlaboratoryinvestigationsofthedielectricbreakdownstrengthofoilininsulatingsystems.1.3ThistestmethodisusedtojudgeiftheVDEelectrodebreakdownvoltagerequirementsaremetforinsulatingliquids.ThistestmethodshouldbeusedasrecommendedbyprofessionalorganizationstandardssuchasIEEEC57.106.1.4ThistestmethodmaybeusedtoobtainthedielectricbreakdownofsiliconefluidasspecifiedinTestMethodD2225,providedthatthedischargeenergyintothesampleislessthan20mJ(millijoule)perbreakdownforfiveconsecutivebreakdowns.1.5Boththemetricandthealternativeinch-poundunitsareacceptable.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
